Soft Cheese Pretzels
Soft Cheese Pretzels
For a birthday party, you can make pretzels in the shape of your
age or the letters of your name!
¼ teaspoon ¼ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons 1½ teaspoons sugar
½ teaspoon dried dill
2¾ tablespoons dry yeast
1½ teaspoons baking powder
1½ cups gluten-free fl our mixture (See the Gluten-Free Flour
Mixtures on page 16)
⅔ cup warm (not hot) water
¾ cup grated cheddar cheese (Vegan Gourmet Cheddar Cheese
Alternative is dairy-free)
1 egg, beaten
Q Preheat oven to 425°F. Lightly spray a baking sheet with nonstick
spray.
W In a large bowl, use a whisk to blend together ¼ teaspoon salt,
sugar, dill, yeast, baking powder, and fl our mixture.
E With a rubber spatula, stir in the warm water until blended.
Stir in the cheese.
R Sprinkle your hands with a little fl our mixture, and then
knead the dough to blend in the cheese.
T Divide the dough into 18 balls (about the size of Ping-Pong
balls).

tops of the pretzels with the beaten egg, and sprinkle the tops
of the pretzels with the remaining ¼ teaspoon salt.
I Bake for 15 minutes.
